"In an age of
unparalleled scientific activity, especially in the
area of biology, brain function and behavior, contradictions
between established governmental policies and new
research findings is inevitable. A troubling question
arises: if an established governmental policy is challenged
by new scientific findings, will bureaucrats and professionals
committed to current practices and responsibilities
admit that established policies may be based on an
error and need to be reexamined?

In the mid 1940's, due in part to
a series
of lawsuits
and environmental
disasters, the Atomic Energy Council began extensive
fluoride
research.
Congressional
investigations have been initiated.
A recent
Supreme
Court Lawsuit ruled against a Health Department
The National
Academy of Sciences has been asked to research
the issue. The conclusions
are posted online.
The EPA called for research referring
to fluoridation chemicals as regulated
contaminants.
In
Davis County had several lawsuits filed. Salt
Lake Valley Health Department has several legal
battles of their own.
